Migaloo the white whale spotted off Qld coast

The most famous white whale in the world, Migaloo, has today been spotted frolicking off waters in Queensland's far north.

It is believed to be the first time the famed humpback has been sighted this year.

The whale enchanted dive boat passengers off Cape Tribulation, north of Port Douglas and skipper Shane Down says the encounter lasted for 15 minutes.

"Migaloo was sighted cruising just very slowly to the north," he said.

"There were two bodyguards, what I'm calling bodyguards, one on either side and cruising along really slowly.

"A little bit of frisky play, but no breaches or pec slaps and she was really easy to see.

"She was cruising along under water and she looked like a big white Kombi van."
